What is the best bug out rifle or survival rifle. Many people say a 9mm carbine makes a lot of sense because you can share ammo with your pistol. The CMMG Mk9 is an AR platform rifle from a great USA company. Let’t take one to the range and see how it shoots.

Would never buy one based on yr vedio.
Thanks
Ammo is heavy and takes up space. Whatever caliber you choose, carrying a rifle / carbine that uses different ammo than your handgun significantly reduces the amount of ammo you can carry for BOTH weapons. No matter which weapon runs out of ammo first, you will be regretting it if the situation is serious enough to require ammo in the first place.
You shoot better than alot of people. I would trust you to have my back in a gun fight 😀
No follow up on the CMMG yet?
thanks for the review on that rifle Bryan. God Bless.
Does that use proprietary magazines?
Another great thing I love about CMMG is how hard they fought and continue to fight for gun rights. Unlike some other MFG in neighboring Illinois. I own the CMMG 9mm carbine and love it.
Awesome video!! good family fun. My choice is .410 & .22 over under. very versatile gun. And ammo is low price and easy to get.
What was the problem with the hydrashok? Not enough pressure?
As always, a great video! What type of sight was on the gun? Is that yours? Thanks
That is a cool rifle. 9mm is a convenient ammo indeed. Should be great fun to shoot. As always big thumbs up Bryan 🙂
Nice job
Your channel came up in my feed. Watched a few videos then subscribed. Great channel!
Those bullets definitely passed the balance test. 😉
Bryan, I hope that Chuck Norris is doing okay. I missed seeing him on this video. Thanks for a great video…Abe Azar
Is that the nephew that sold ya the Bronco?
looks like it's all over the place. round about 6 or 7 inch groups isn't very good. but I will say that's could all be do to various ammo differences. Love that ammo would interchange with my glock or any 9mm. ummm so so I say.
I really like ur VIDS but I am getting sick and tired of hearing about the 9mm as if was the best thing if u want to put any thing down u use a 45acp and u don't need a 30 round mag and if u can't hit ur target with that # of rounds then u don't need to have a gun in ur hands
i think a tavor or kriss might be a better choice if you can afford it. i think this may compare with the kel-tec's of the industry. thoughts?
always love ur videos , informative and entertaining. thank you for doing them and God Bless
Great video Bryan. A good test platform indeed. Speaking for myself….my choice for a bug out caliber is the 22LR. Super easy to carry lots of ammo and deadly out to 400 yards. Back to this video….great to see you keeping up with the firearms stuff. And good for CMMG for their faith based business.
I know I like my PCC rifles in 9mm. The whole family shots them well and they work with our Glock magazines. No, they are not battle rifles, but yes they extend the range of the pistol out to an easy 100 yards allowing us to reach out further than with just a pistol.
nice rifle.
CMMG 9mm as Bug Out Rifle (vs similar rifle in .223/5.56)?
Pros: 9mm make less noise when fired than .223/5.56, you can use the same ammo as your pistol (if you carry a 9mm), 9mm ammo is less bulky than .223/5.56, the cheapest 9mm (FMJ) has better penetration than cheapest .223/5.56 (55gr. FMJ), the best 9mm ammo is cheaper than the best .223/5.56 ammo.
Cons: .223 has greater range and flatter trajectory than 9mm, .223/5.56 is more effective on soft targets than 9mm – the cheapest .223/5.56 is arguably more effective than the best 9mm and the best .223/5.56 is definitely more effective, .223/5.56 magazines are cheaper and far more plentiful, .223/5.56 parts are cheaper and easier to get..
IMHO, I'd rather have a .223/5.56 for bugging out. Yes, I'd have to carry two different kinds of ammo. Then again it doubles the chances of being able to use ammo I acquire after bugging out – although I wouldn't count on acquiring any ammo after bugging out. But, to me, the positives of .223/5.56 outweigh the positives of 9mm, and the negatives of 9mm outweigh those of .223/5.56. But, YMMV.
OTOH, the reduced noise level of the 9mm carbine might make it a good choice for home defense – firing a .223/5.56 indoors without ear protection is a good way to lose, or at least degrade, your hearing.
I love when companies openly embrace religion, I agree it is probably one of the reasons for their success. The MK9 looks like a fun platform. I really want to pickup a Mutant someday… BTW love the firearm vids!
nice review
Good info. And shooting!
Always better to limit the number of variations of ammo if possible. Concealed pistol, full-sized pistol, rifle with all the same ammo helps make things easy.
Didn't know that about CMMG. They just moved up a notch in my book.
Love the gun stuff Bryan! Keep it up.
Nice review Bryan. I'd like to see that in a braced pistol variant. This just reinforces that you need to thoroughly test your gun and ammo choices before putting them into service!
Bryan, this was a great vid. love the gun stuff
